Located on the Northumberland coast, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), Low Steads Holiday Cottages are the perfect location for your holiday. All four cottages are very individual and guests who have visited over the years often come back to their personal favourite.
The Forsyth family have lived and worked on the farm since 1890. The holiday cottage business has been running since 1985, with Croft and Rose Cottages. We do have guests who have come almost every year since opening! We aim to provide a welcoming, comfortable and relaxing base for your holiday in Northumberland.
Originally there were two cottages, Croft and Rose. These were refurbished in 2009/2010. In 2012 a third farm cottage was renovated to become a holiday home, alongside it were some redundant outbuildings. These were unsafe and knocked down to allow the development of the fourth, wheelchair accessible cottage.
All four cottages have their own private gardens and ample parking. Howdiemont and Whinney Cottage have tarmac parking areas and their own natural stone patio areas. Garden furniture is provided for each cottage.
Free Wi-Fi is available in all four cottages.
The cottages are fully double-glazed and have night store heating throughout. They all have fitted kitchens which include oven, hob, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher and microwave.
The cottages have lovely ingleneuk fireplaces with log burning stoves. All fuel is provided free of charge, but we do ask that you use it responsibly. Each cottage has a television and DVD player.
All the linen and towels you require is provided. We do ask how many beds you need made up. A bath mat, dish cloth and drying towel are also provided.
A cot, high chair and fireguard are available on request.
We accept one or two well-behaved dogs by arrangement. Please ask when booking.
All cottages are no smoking.
Supermarket deliveries available in this area from Asda and Sainsbury’s.
Enough everyday essentials such as toilet roll, kindling, matches, washing up liquid, dishwater tablets and washing powder are provided to get you started. Some tea, coffee, sugar and milk will be waiting for you along with the local newspaper – always good to find out what’s going on!
