Whinney Holiday Cottage opened as a holiday let alongside Howdiemont Cottage in July 2012. It is situated on the site of some old and redundant outbuildings. These were knocked down and Whinny Cottage was purpose built to provide a very accessible holiday cottage including for wheelchair users.
This spacious cottage has been built and finished to a high standard. It is fully double-glazed and has night store heating throughout.
Whinney Cottage has a tarmac parking area, which leads right up to the front door. There are low threshes throughout and no steps.

There is a log burning stove set in an ingle-neuk fireplace, with a sofa and two high backed chairs to relax on. There is a dining table and chairs along with TV and DVD player.
Inside the kitchen and lounge are open plan, leading to a patio door out onto a lovely natural stone patio. The kitchen is fully-fitted with a washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, side-opening oven and hob. There is both an under-unit fridge and a freezer. Along with all the other useful bits and pieces that will make the cottage feel like a home from home.
The two carpeted bedrooms are spacious and light. One is a twin room and the other has a king-sized bed and fitted wardrobes.
Whinney cottage has a very large, fully tiled wet room. It has under-floor heating and a heated towel rail. There are grab rails situated by the sink, toilet and shower. A stationary shower chair can be provided.
